Evil within the soul

by MyaEve   Jul 31, 2011

You live where tragedies lay,
Where human souls are piled high,
and the deepest evil is abundant.

Once upon a lonely night,
you burrowed deep in sorrow.
Blue eyes full of guilt,
Heart full of defiance.

Tired of moping,
You took your mistakes as treasures,
Greedy for more "precious gifts,"
Instead of being lost.

Now you are the the king of all nefarious acts,
More delirious than us all.
In the depths of Hell,
You shall remain.

Luna~ Thanks. I didn't want to use the same words over and over again, and plus, I love big words with deep meanings. Also, thank you! It came to mind, and I thought I should use! Thank you once again(:

Myryn~ I love those words too, I learned them in school, I guess English Class does come in handy, haha(: And thank you so much!

Such a powerful piece you've penned here. I loved the smooth flow all throughout this piece. I've noticed several words that I really liked (defiance, nefarious, delirious, etc.). Good job! :D

I must say that you have a very mature vocabulary for someone so young, kudos for that. :) I think these big words work quite well within this piece, as it's a dark one, and these words have a haunting sound to them.

Of course I can't only give credit to your diction, as there's art in the way you describe things as well. For example:
"Where human souls are piled high,"
^ I liked the way you didn't say "human bodies", which would make more sense since it's more graspable. It's the way you bring something not graspable such as souls together with "piling it up" which makes it beautiful. It really shows that this poem is about inner feelings/thoughts.
