Left to Drown.

by Chloe Johnson   Aug 2, 2011

I'm so thirsty
I'm a fountain of youth.
Did I say youth?
I meant a fountain of you.
Blood cold as ice.
Emotions hot as blood.
I'm swimming in your desert-
Hydrated when you want company.
To hold a hand.
To kiss soft lips.
I have no sensation
Because of who did this.
You see right through my walls.
And yet you let me drown.
You feel the soul in my heart
But you just walk away.
A fool am I
For wishing to have you
This play on words
Shows nothing of what I've been through.

A poem full of a mixture of sensation, lust, love, and deep feeling. I really like how you wrote:

    A fool am I
    For wishing to have you
    This play on words
Shows nothing of what I've been through.

It's like you're saying you can't put a handle on love :) Sometimes we can't stop ourselves even if it's for the best.

All in all, great work! I enjoyed reading this.
