Just my dream

by Beauty In The Breaking   Aug 5, 2011

Tossing and turning,
waiting for the oblivion of sleep
that's always just past my fingertips lately,
I drift off unaware that I have
into a world that seems so real.

Caught in that world of awake and sleeping,
I swear I feel the bed imprint
with the weight of your body beside me
with your scent curling around me
to envelope me in it's traces.

I swear I felt you brush my hip,
tenderly stroke my cheek
and brush my hair away.
I thought I heard you whisper
just the barest breath of my name.

I guess it was just a dream
since when I woke I was alone again
but to me it was so very real,
I swear you were in the room.
But I guess it was just my wish.

I have lately kinda related to this stanza-->
    Tossing and turning,
waiting for the oblivion of sleep
that's always just past my fingertips lately,
I drift off unaware that I have
into a world that seems so real.

--but I loved it it was really good and written well with terrific wording :) 5/5
