Tears and vodka

by DirtRoadGirl   Aug 5, 2011

The bitter taste of salty tears,
and the sting of vodka as it numbs my pain.
One too many shots I'll take to hide these stupid fears,
of sunless days doomed to rain.

I think of you and your smile,
and every ache that fills my heart.
Wishing you were here for a while,
I start to fall apart.

The tears, they fall like rain,
and the vodka numbs my mind.
Trying to drink away the pain,
and leave it all behind.

I love you more then I want to,
and you're just what I need to save me.
What am I supposed to do,
when I can't just forget how it used to be?

I taste the bitterness of salty tears,
and feel the sting of vodka as it numbs my pain.
Twelve to many shots I will take as I'm caught up in my fears;
because these sunless days are doomed to rain.
