Someday I'll Have the Best

Exactly two months ago,
You were the reason for my smile.
Now, all you do is hurt me,
Why do you have to be so hostile?

You said you'd always be there,
Now you're nowhere to be found.
I thought you'd help lift me up,
Instead you push me further into the ground.

What happened to all the memories,
All the times waking up together?
Remember the days doing nothing?
Cuddling during the stormy weather.

You'll never truly know,
How much I hurt inside.
All the tears I continue to cry,
And each day have to hide.

Nor, will you ever know,
About how I really feel.
About this secret love of mine,
A love that seems so unreal.

I've known from the start,
About this love I felt for you.
But, I just hid it inside,
And you'll never have a clue.

But, I'll smile and wish you luck,
As you head off to the northwest.
And I'll smile for myself too,
Because someday I'll have the best.

This is a poem I wrote for my most recent ex, Jacob. We dated for 8 months and he broke my heart... but since he's leaving to go to college, and so am I, I'm trying to wipe my tears. Because I believe I'll meet someone way more amazing and who won't hurt me like Jacob did. I can only have faith.<3
