I can feel the distance between us
It feels like so much more
Life has locked me far away
And you can't reach the door.

Sometimes I wake up and think
That you are still near
But then I realize you're gone
And have to dry my tears

It feels as if my heart is empty
A place that is missing you
Forever and always not cliche
but with us so very true

You used to be my beacon
Shining brightly in the night
