My Dark Friend

by BEglen   Aug 9, 2011

Here I am again
In my room, thats not mine
And my strange friend meets me here
I'm just his puppet when he arrives

I see his outline in the darkness
As he reaches for the blade
I flinch as the cold metal touches my arm
But I let him proceed

Will he finish this day
Or will we meet another day
He cuts along my forearm
I feel nothing at first
Then the sting of pain comes on

He places the blade again on my arm
He looks into my eyes, I give a nod
He does it quickly this time
Throwing the worthless red liquid from the blade
As he pulls it across my skin

No drips this time a steady flow falls into the dark sink
I grit my teeth and flex my jaw tight with the pain
I laugh in my head as to what/who brought me here with this stranger
i know

As I distract myself he sees the chance for a 3rd slash
Ouch I whisper, I hear the blade fall to the sink
I reach for the light I close my eyes and then slowly open them to the brightness
And the ugliness

I stare at him a guy I never thought I'd ever see
Or need in my life
I tell him see you tomorrow?
I get a smirk, I know he enjoys this
I turn away from the mirror
And turn off the light.
