My Memories

by Paul Gondwe   Aug 14, 2011

In my memories
I see all the joy, the worries
Fading as time goes by
Yet I cling to them

I hold on to my memories
For with them I have you
A love bud gone too soon
Each day, I cry to the moon
Then with a sudden pause
I am lost in my memories

That day you said yes
As I waited
My legs went numb
Your love I greatly desired
With so much passion
It was like a dream
Now it is in my memories

Why my love? Gone so early
Our first kiss as we rode the ferry
Assurances of your love you gave
The way you said it
The way you expressed it
And yet it is in my memories

I never said goodbye
All I got was a call
What I heard made me fall
It is all in my memories
Now I strive to stand tall
My love, forever you are in my memories

Deep in my heart you reside
Nothing to keep us apart
My memories I treasure
With each single thought I smile
I think about my love above, who is watching me
Flattering her wings like a dove

All the time we spent together
All the fun
Kissing even in stormy weather

My memories I hold dear
But once I start to reminisce
I shed a tear
For within me I have fear
That another like you
I will never find
So I look to my memories

Our memories either good or bad are the best treasure we can ever have. :)
