Though it was only for eight weeks,
You were the mother of our child
And I know you don't agree
But I'd call you a good mother.
I'd say I know the circumstances
And I know the things we did
But its those very things my darling
That show how much you do care.
You thought about it's well being
And that's how we made our choice.
You see, i know, all that you wanted
Was to be the best mother you could.
I know you wont agree with me
And you will say I'm crazy babe,
But I know deep down inside
You know that it is true
There is no better mother for my child than you.
So I say happy Mother's Day to you, too
Though its not something you expect to hear.
We did have a child some time ago
And I dream of days in which it will be real
That we will have a child to call our own
And treat him the way I know we both know how.
I see the way your mother treats you
And I know you'd be just the same.
So I would trust you with a life that's ours
And I feel no shame in that.
Please know I write with tears
And I do miss it, too.
I just try to be strong for us
Hoping to see us through.
