Tender Soul

by Soulful Ensemble   Aug 15, 2011

I listen quietly to catch
The sound of tender breathing
Resting on my chest
As I hope I'm never leaving.

Time flows by like wind
Or the second of a blink
Leaving the moment pinned
Until my heart must sink.

Night and day are warm
With tender loving thoughts
That make a gentle storm
Making me feel sought.

I look for you on rainy days
And when the skies are black.
Love has many ways
But it never slacks.

You're brighter than the sun
And prettier than the moon.
Your tender soul is never done
Growing where all flowers bloom.

I could wait for you forever
Beneath the darkest hole
Knowing you and light together
Join to become whole.

When you walk into a room
My spirit feels the presence
And every step exhumes
Even the deadest essence.
