What's the Price of Love?

by Poet on the Piano   Aug 15, 2011

15 roses
for 3 years,
a splendid
promise
to count.....

Why didn't you just leave me
lingering on my doorstep,
under my own phantom
of a bloody, wind-swept kiss?

Paper hearts
strung
above my bed,
breathing
from my window.
You know I'm
breakable
but able to be
a redeemed frame.

Why didn't you forget your passion
somewhere in the block of time,
and let it filter away in rivers
where we've never planned to meet?

You try
everything
for my heart
to chase
you back.

I know you aren't just the signal,
you are the call of my wild love
that has found an answering echo.

How will this all end?
Who will accept their existence?
In one soul,
one forever memory-

The protection
of Me and You,
an interpretation
that will never be
unheard.

If I haven't run out of nominations, this piece would have been nominated! :/

The numbers "15" and "3" empowered your opening. They were like attention grabbers.
    Great method.

These thoughts structured together awesomely made me ponder so much and go beyond your vivid poetic horizon.

It's so refreshing to read such a poem.
    I so like.
