She was the queen... sheltered in a castle made of molded candy She was always sleeping... protected in a blanket of vulnerability Until one day She woke up... untrained eyes opened into a new world She was lost... the halls lungs drained of breath The king blew Her a kiss... the castle came crumbling down, down, down. Then She was alone...again. Stranded in place so alienated from dreams She searched high and low... the faces unfamiliar, and the air too thick Troubled Her legs began to crumble Ease into a simple rest of the mind, body, soul. Until She ran far, far away... Sleeping's for the dead not the living.
