Carcinogenic Heart (Collab with Lebanese Phoenix)

by Poet on the Piano   Aug 18, 2011

He buries her soul
among choleric rosebushes-
a webbing of
"I will wait for you's"
that never bloomed
in red winter trials.

But she will never know...

The thoughts of her creep
through his tumbling veins
as cancerous blood
demolishes his immunity.
It's not scarcity of love,
nor rectitude,
he's suffering from,
but a will to live deficiency.

Still he never knew...

Wind empties his words
in a sorrowful conversion,
while he remains alive
by imagining her divine visage-
once beating for his
forlorn betrayal.

And though chemo
became his permanent therapy,
she refused to let him hide behind
his delusional bars of denial.

...

But between two breaths,
time chars, and life degrades
silently -
biding farewells
of terrestrial torment.

Still both never knew that...

"I will wait for you's"
would finally bloom
in white winter proposals,

and the untamed heart
(healing over moonlights)
would strike the chord
of her touch,
letting her know
he isn't forever
out of her angelic reach.

A beautifully sad poem. Once I went through it once I had to read it again and it was even better. I liked how you talked about the red and white winters. I loved this line:

    But between two breaths,
    time chars, and life degrades
    silently -
    biding farewells
    of terrestrial torment.

    Great job
