Escapism

by Mushh   Aug 21, 2011

Strip her of the flesh, then peer straight through to soul.
Softly pick the padlocks and watch her world unfold.
Emotions filled of nothing, Empty - At its best.
Silence drowns the beatings and the heart will plead for rest.

Peel away the mask, but look with eyes wide shut.
Judgment floods the mind, as she makes the final cut.
"Self-harm" is incorrect, "Control" is what she'll say,
'til the cracks begin to thicken and she throws "Control" away.

Her hopes have fallen deep, her dreams have passed her by,
The world will never stop, for a girl who chose to die.
Her path was never finished, her future never made,
The city lights are burning but hers begin to fade.

She smiles her only smile, as she hacks away the pain.
The weights begin to lift, her sorrows slowly drain.
The smell of death is near, his scent will bleed the lung,
She lost the game of life, her time on earth is done.

I know I've already commented this but I couldn't help but comment again, I've read through this a couple of times & I can't find a single fault, you're a true poet and you should write more often, I don't see enough of your stuff! Take care and I look forward to reading more of your work! :)
