The Begger - etheree

by Larry Chamberlin   Aug 21, 2011

Sit
hot sun
street corner
with sign in hand
begging for money
"homeless and disabled."
Passers by don't believe it
but what madness would lure him here
for the pittance stingy people give?
Despair becomes its own imprisonment.
