My One Regret

by Shannon   Jun 22, 2004

That night we had fought
And said a lot of stuff
Things that should have been said
To each other out of love

I said I'd always hate you
You told me you felt the same
For everything I had wrong in my life
I said I had you to blame

I blamed you for my problems
It was all because of you
If only I could take it back
If only I had knew

Walking out the door
I never said goodbye
I never said I love you
Before you had to die

After our hateful argument
You had gone to a bar
Only to cross the busy street
And get hit by a speeding car

Everything was broken
Nothing could be saved
I only wish I could take back
The way that I behaved

I wish I could say I'm sorry
I wish that you could see
The way your death changed my life
How I'm a better me

I want to see you one more time
To see if you're OK
I want to say I love you
And go back to that awful day
