The Funeral

My moms funeral,
a beautiful memory of her life,
held in this magnificent church,
hundreds of faces,
some i recognized,
others i never knew about,
all saying "I'm Sorry for your loss".

In a simple black dress,
embroidered with lace,
i get told,
you look so beautiful,
your mom would have loved seeing you like this,
smiling the fakest smile ever,
i nod my head saying thank you,
and keep on walking.

The preacher comes out,
announces for everybody to come inside,
the service is about to start,
i grab my friends hand,
and we go inside,
i feel hundreds of eyes on me,
as i walk to the family section,
sit down waiting for it to begin.

Tears pouring out of everybody's eyes
as my mom is talked about,
my aunt says a few words,
kleenex passed out from person to person,
not one tear sheds out of my eyes,
people staring with astonished expressions,
don't judge me is all i can think.

Memories go all around,
high school years,
my dad and hers wedding,
my brother and i,
tears continuing to flow,
people asking me if I'm okay,
and i nod I'm alright,
feeling no emotion what so ever.

A Gorgeous ceremony,
white roses everywhere,
her favorite flower,
pictures of her blown up huge,
its all i can look at,
thinking why aren't you crying,
and wanting to say i love you to her,
more then anything.

My moms funeral,
a beautiful memory of her life,
held in this magnificent church,
hundreds of faces,
some i recognized,
others i never knew about,
all saying "I'm Sorry for your loss".

Very rough to go through, its not wrong for you not to have cried. You have to be strong for everyone else. I hate when I say good poem when it was a really sad time in your life. So I will say I'll pray strength for you. :')
