Do You Know- Do I Weep?

by Poet on the Piano   Aug 25, 2011

My life is beginning to be defined
by the question words
of yesterday's unfolding lies.

What is there to believe
but the script secretly written
for my own lullaby's surrender?

Do you know me...
How long I've held my breath,
taken care of words wasted
when I could be better preparing
our woe once upon a balcony.

Do you know about chances....

How a smile can succeed in sunshine
and a friendly notation
prelude into a loyal maybe,
of what beautiful can be made into.

Do you know how to memorize....
Memories chased, valleys run,
a simple feature that shines
when melodies are destroyed.

[I keep you alive in thought.]

Do I weep at endings....
The lighthouse we filled
with laughing dawn of day
now dusting beneath waves,
whenever you deny
I could ever be near you.

Do I weep through love...
An age ripening
at times where attractions still,
and every hope is based
off of integrity's brow.

Do I weep when music fades...
A song yet to be told,
a princess yet to be found,
a prince yet to be crowned,
a love yet to be saved.

Do you know what my heart holds?
Do I dare enter another "someday?"

Good poem, it was a fast read.
I don't see anything that needs changing.
