Hand in Hand Together

by Marc Ortiz   Aug 26, 2011

Have you ever thought that love was only,
An illusion created by our imagination?
I was one of the many who doubted true love.
Until the moment I first witness a never ending love.

The love of those two people is like a shooting star.
It is rarely seen, but whenever we get a chance to see it,
It will always illuminate the darkness in our hearts.
My father was the only shooting star, in my mother's heart.

In the past I have always thought that love was only,
A retribution from God, but their love is a proof that love is enduring.
Even though they are separated a thousand miles from each other,
Their hearts are always connected by an invisible chain.

Their love has no boundaries or barriers,
Because those two people were destined to be together.
I know that when their eyes first locked - their souls recognized
Each other and their souls pulled each other together.

Even if the world would end on this day,
I am sure that they will find each other against all odds.
And whenever my mother sees the shooting star she yearns to see.
I can feel their heart beat in perfect resonance.

As I lay here looking up and smiling - thinking that God
Really does answer our prayers, because I know for sure;
That he has helped my parent's dream to come true.
God has guided my wonderful parents to grow old,

Hand in hand through this life together.
