Ebb and Flow

by jescelle   Aug 27, 2011

It's poetry in motion,
When I walk I sway my hips.
My lungs are aching, my heart is breaking,
With a smile upon my lips.

I feel in fluid, wave-like moves,
My eyes so hard; unveiled.
Allow the pain, a cry in vain,
Destroyed the self; prevailed.

Hold the smoke just a little too long,
Buzzing stitches to heal the wound.
I'm hiding the effect of disrespect,
With "strength" that's not attuned.

Sing the blues to cool the burn,
Cuz I placed myself in this.
A heart to slaughter, like oil to water,
A "friend" and then your kiss...

Back to sand and orange sunsets,
Whoa! No, not today!
Just leave my sight and love alone,
As a game you used to play.

Call a spade the ace of hearts,
Do the math and call or fold.
Make your move, cuz I've got dueces,
And your bluff is uncontrolled.

But you're perfectly flawed and gorgeous,
With your ebb and flow; prestine.
Anger and muscle in a sobbing rebuttle,
Filthy liars can taste so clean.

Told, but actions scream your thoughts,
That face too sweet to leave.
I hate the wait, just tell me straight,
And make sure we both believe.
