Poem #11

by yogi73   Aug 29, 2011

I created the wind and let it
pull me deep into the upward
I let her sun rise in mine eyes
while quietly weeping from afar
For closer to her I will never be.

Her warmth promises a gentle kiss
but the wind chills
to forget the warmth
of the beauty that remains
To forget of the warmth she gave.

Forget not, I cry to the wind
Lo sorrowful patience will not yield my love
For she is not cruel, her abundance
forgets not about I. But the wind
carries me away until the end of my time.

That is my favorite stanza, it was the perfect end to this poem. And a heartbreaking one

A beautiful love poem yet it is filled with some
deep sadness; its like love sees from afar but
unable to touch it..sad yet tenderly sad. Keep
    penning!

Unique, unusual (in a good way) and interesting, I'll be back to read more of your writes, later on, just keep in mind that you are to my favorites, right away. Well-done.

A couple of things before I get into the good stuff: punctuation helps poems flow. At the end of every sentence there should be a comma or full stop (or semicolon, etc.). The last stanza did it well. And I know naming a poem seems like such an effort most of the time but if you really look in to the poem a name usually comes out of it. I prefer abstract but it doesn't have to be.
But in saying that, plenty of poets who have gone before didn't use creative names.

Now, I really really loved this line "her warmth promises..." I think those three words are the standouts for me because they are just the right amount of abstract. And the overall feel of the poem is very relatable, and I like that it isn't literal.

    Good job. I enjoyed it.
