My choice

by Innocent Fairy   Aug 29, 2011

I'm sitting here
Gazing at the blue sky,
White fluffy clouds
With the sun shining on my face,
Just thinking of you.
This is a perfect day
But when grey
He still lingers in my face.
Feelings still stay.
I've said goodbye
And shoved him to the side.
Buried the box
And threw his things in hiding.
Only he can remind me
Of my hidden feelings
That I put to the side
And said goodbye.
I've cleared my heart,
Opened wide with glee and fear.
There's only room for one,
And you are near.
It's my decision,
My choice
And I choose you.

As a precursor to "What's wrong with me" this is a powerful statement. You tick off the proofs of casting the old one aside, the reasons you lost trust in him, and then you simply state your intentions. Crisp, clean and succinct.

I think that this poem flows quite well and I think that the first few verses definately set a very nice image. I also love the emotions in this because they seem to be somewhat overwhelming yet you say strong and know that you decide on your own. Well done.
