Sweet Sacrifice

by Dark Secrets   Aug 30, 2011

Droplets of freedom slip on cheeks
Mixed with essences of joy and sorrow
The palm trees, the beaches, the sand
Weep his death, yet rejoice in its results
He lived to die a martyr...

His shadow grew longer than his grave stone
His fate engraved under the pearl
Sacred verses lay beyond the cloth
A single rose between his fingers
Peace was his message...

Steel fragments hit his chest so proud
Diving deep through the flesh
His cries are stifled with poisonous gas
Failing to restrain his final breath
He signs out...

For my love... Bahrain

It's a very nice poem,,so touching. You know because of all these problems going on in this world I feel that the end is very close, but I still that part of me who is still pushing me forward telling me that everything is going to fine at the end..I won't give up this hope and now I believe that before dawn comes there must be a dark night..Nice poem.

I loved the word usage in this poem. Imagery was great. It is also a good length and flows nicely.
