Embers

by Helena Jaster   Aug 31, 2011

Semi cooled ash dances along the ground,
a lingering heat restlessly calling from a nights burn
as two forms find each other in earnest

The light through the trees cascades upon their forms
kaleidoscopic in sweeping, slopping patterns
as the wind carves its way along gentle curves and heat

heavy sweat cools on the skin, the flesh tensing
bodies not as two but as one, tumbling and gripping
desperate, clawing hands searching the form

obsessive lips press together, fluid shifts, and hands grip,
the motions drawing and retreating
as naked, yearning flesh falls deeper and deeper

the winds gasps, the breaths pulse and rise
two hearts beating as one, rhythm and lust rising
a heavy, thick, desire feverish in its wants

Dizzy and drifting, the forms tumble and submerge
heat, lust, and desire coalescing in a moment
as release, long wanted, drives them into blissful stupor

Their bodies rest, the air cooling their shaking revelries
but just as a single breath bring embers back to life
the fire reignites as the sin draws them back again
