A Constant Shadow

by Sigoney Holder   Sep 1, 2011

There she is acting as though she hadn't a care

Whereas all I seem to do is stop and stare

Wherever I go I can't seem to escape her beautiful face

And I can't help thinking what a complete waste

She was everything, I mean she meant the world to me

Now I'm without her I'm no longer happy

I mean she could have had the courtesy to say

Why she decided to go away

I did everything in my power to change her mind

But she had already decided to leave me behind

The nation needs a beauty who everyone wants to see

And the beauty she has become never really belonged to me

We used to eat cheap food from Asda and sleep in my car

But now she's being wined and dines on Britain's finest caviar

She used to wear jeans and short tops whenever she could

Now she'll only be seen in the latest Vivian Westwood

I want to show everyone what she's really made of

I want to be with the real girl who made me fall in love

She's now got a different good looking stud on her arm every night

Before she was introduced to this crap, she would of thought that this wasn't right

I don't care what others may say, I'll still spend every night at her window

I need her to remember me, even if I'm only a constant shadow.
