To write with shadows on the wall
To be so near to see it all
To have it all flash before your eyes
Life's one and only Mystery, such a disguise
With that random writing on the wall
Peace and tranquility still they fall
They fall though to ash and soot
Fighting now, undaunted you claimed
And laughing now because still in the end you remain
Terrified of what you seek
The knowledge that all humans reap
We seek and search for the end
We look it in the eye and then we send
All our sins and all our thoughts
Into the void and we know not
To where it goes and where it came
Where dose it lead to well never have a name
Some call it heaven, some call it hell
All I have is the clock ticking in the hall
So after we take the moments and use
Them to count and doom, drowning out
The image of decay
The truth is well all fall someday
And be so timely cast away
Away into the void of unbecoming sin
Or perhaps unaccompanied bliss
And forever and always well me missed
By those precious, we leave behind
Counting down the stream of time
So hear me out when I say this
Well always write with shadows on the wall
Well always be so near and not see at all
