I Can't Tell You

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Sep 3, 2011

If I block out the pounding rain
My own heartbeat that is insane
The tears that I shed in pain
Silence still remains
Sitting in a pay phone booth
Picked up the phone to say the truth
But something stopped me abruptly
How would it affect you ?

Would you love me or let it go ?
Act as if you didn't know ?
Surprise me by saying you love me, too ?
Being with me is the best thing to do ?

All the words I can't say
Levitate above my head
Scrambled around in my heart
The true emotions I meant
So I'll just keep sitting in here
Wallowing in my own self pity
Until I pick up the bravery
To walk almost the whole city

Only to walk up to your door
No hesitating; the time is now
I can't just turn around
Until I hear the beautiful sound
Of our lips kissing a melody
Until you wrap your arms around me
Whisper sweetly that you can't live without me
If only,
If only,
If only I had that bravery
Where I just swallow my pride
Go to the bus stop and catch a ride
To be in a place where I can hide
Only for me to beat myself up again
Thought I was used to telling you everything
But I guess,
If you knew and you wanted to be friends
My whole world would gradually end

Wow Girl, this is an amazing poem. It flowed well & you could just feel the emotions.

All the words I can't say
    Levitate above my head
    Scrambled around in my heart
    The true emotions I meant
So I'll just keep sitting in here
Wallowing in my own self pity
Until I pick up the bravery
To walk almost the whole city

Loved this stanza. Just waiting till finally you're strong enough to get up & go to him and find out the truth.
    Amazing job<3
