Moonwrecked Hexed

Oh, God, not this again.
I say to my only friend.
He is my strange familiar.
He purred that September.

Eyes that glow in the night.
A shadow in the twilight.
Ghostly haunting my mind.
Claws that are so unkind.

A de ja vu with soft steps.
A switchblade tail unkept.
Fangs like razor blades.
Memory comes and fades.

Friend of witches and magic.
His hunger and bite tragic.
Claws that dig deep in skin.
Yet, he is my only friend.

He paces and curls so near.
His motor rumbling I hear.
Tail in my face as I sneeze.
Full of terror like a breeze.

The panic attack dissipates.
Reincarnation just too late.
Just nine lives I only wish.
I swish my tail as this fish.
