Close to be a Stranger.

by Poet on the Piano   Sep 3, 2011

In the tune of silence
from the world of corrupted
violence,
I pass you on the train-
windows only looking
outwards....
neglecting the common stranger
and rushing into goodbyes.
To you I'm just another
vagrant.
Are we better off
traveling contradictory speeds?

What should I say
when we're pushing
worlds away?
We look out similar glass,
but what we see changes
the way the world works.

In the trap of fear
I try to draw your name near,
am I failing
enough for you to notice-
the bloody, terrible
mystery that no longer functions?

Am I more than a pulse
to fill your needs?

What a strong ending full of conviction and question. WOW, that hit me hard!

I love the play with the rhyme, how it wasn't consistent other than in the beginning of each stanza. I thought it gave it a great rhythm here. Awesome write :)
