He Loves Me

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Sep 3, 2011

While your arms are around her
Slow dancing the night away
Her red gown following the movement
Hair pinned up with a curly strand stray
You're looking at me over her shoulder
Secretly wishing she was me
As I walked in with a peach dress
That flows down to my knee
If you wanted me so bad
Then why didn't you ask
I would've been a fool, for sure
If I even hesitated to say yes
Stop to ask her if she could get some punch
Then you slowly walk up
Your eyes watching my every move
To pierce in my eyes while I look at you
Closer.
Closer.
You move my bang to the side
I put my hand on your shoulder
Your hands slip down to my behind
And immediately on beat,
I breathe in deep and follow your lead
Time stands still,
We're laughing and smiling
Not paying to attention to anyone else
Our dance felt like such a miraculous act,
Until,
She came back
Her lips trembling with disbelief
Her eyes tearing up from within
We stop as she shakes her head
With her hands on her hips
You look at her and then me
Forgetting she even exists
You tell her that you love me
And seals it,
With a kiss

How can I not fulfill his notion,
And love him back ?
