What Happened To Forever

by believeinlove87   Sep 3, 2011

What happened to forever,
to you & me,
to us spending our lives together,
to making amazing memories,
that would forever be cherished,
to a life time of happiness.

Do you remember our first kiss,
the first time we said I love you,
the way I would grab your face saying I'm yours forever,
saying nothing could change the way I felt,
I meant every single word,
but obviously you didn't,
were out of eachothers lives,
no longer together.

What happened to getting married,
we were engaged,
had our kids names picked out,
everybody saw how close we were,
knew we were completely head over heels for each other,
it wasn't fake,
but you changed,
into this person I can't care for.

What happened to forever,
to you & I,
to saying our I dos,
shouting out I love you,
where did things go wrong,
I was always there,
I loved you with such passion,
I gave you my all,
and you just threw it away.

What happened to forever,
is all I can think,
teardrops fall onto my chest,
as I think about what we once were,
I need to get over you,
I need to forget you,
I need to mean it when I say you're dead to me.

I get where you're coming from with the poem, but seems like a lot of cliches sorta strung together. nice flow though.

Very good poem. Very full of emotions. It was nicely worded for the most part, it was a little repetitive. It is a good length and it flowed good from beginning to end. other then maybe getting rid of some of the repetitiveness I see nothing else that needs to be fixed.

    I gave it a 5/5
