Fairies Are Not Pretty

by sibyllene   Sep 4, 2011

Fairies are not pretty;
that's the commonest of errors.
They're petty and they're pokey and
they're small, unholy terrors.

Their little posy lips draw back
to show their needle fangs,
and you'd think their hair was
rotten moss, but for the way it hangs.

If a fairy lad should bite you,
it will make your fingers curl.
The only things that's worse is if
you're bitten by a girl.

Fairies will stay hidden,
lurking under leaves or bark,
only to surprise you if
you step into the dark.

Sure, they can gather rainbows,
and string up flower heads,
but that's so they can sneak them home
and tear them all to shreds.

So if you see a fairy skulking
in a log or near the water,
do us all a favor
by investing in a swatter.

but the poem is pretty, the wording is amazing, and although i disagree with the concept i must admit that even when writing funny poems you can manage uniqueness! I love this poem, yet hate it so much, for your information they are very very very very pretttttttyyyyyyyyyyyy and cute and shiny..just like the yellowness of this page :)

amazing work, very original and worth a front page
