As the sun sets

by The Po whet   Sep 4, 2011

I watch amazed
by the magical beauty,
of the setting sun
setting with the memories of the day.

darkness I awaits in anxious
I despise its' arrival as well.
it brings back the forgotten memories,
memories of you.

I'm taken back to the days when;
together arms in arms
we watched the sun set
and the stars dotting the evening sky.

we met for a reason
a reason that was love,
we're apart for a reason
a reason that;
our love couldn't stand the tides.

I fear to dream of you,
I love to have nightmares of you.
sleep is my enemy,sleep is my solace
dawn arrives
(my relief)
soon, dusk creeps in
(my fear,my anticipation)
another setting of the sun.

    This was so touching, and bittersweet. You have such strong emotions planted in this piece, they grew to a crescendo of sorrow. Really a wonderful work of art.
