Song For Mary Alice.

by Poet on the Piano   Sep 5, 2011

Mary Alice,
you remain a mystery unseen
and for years I never knew-
of your one day
funeral, how I lived
without this sincere secret,
not walking amongst
your beauty and caress.

Mary Alice
will you take me back in time
to the child
who forgot the scent
of freshly birthed
roses.....
and how she wished
with all the world,
to hold on for another
whole hour.

Wherever you are sleeping,
please hear my little prayer.

Your brothers have
wrestled past childhood-
now and then traveling
cross each other's sea
to blossom the family
heart...
I know you must see,
and through them
a legacy could be
shared from your ivory
throne above.

Mary Alice,
will you someday come back?
For when I move through
generations,
you'll be that august wind
that always returns....
and there will be no question
whether or not you'll stay.

I know you're here,
some place in a day's
composition....

[thoughts unspoken,
yet I'll still dream of
who you are,
a hero- a survivor
to me.]

-

a blessing/personal thoughts dedicated to my aunt Mary Alice...I recently found out my dad had a sister who never made it but she will live on in our hearts...guiding us I do believe.
