Slipping

by tainted melody   Sep 6, 2011

This love is slipping through my fingers,
hating how the silence lingers.
You seem so out of reach, so distant,
won't give me anything, so resistant.

Looking at me as if I were a stranger,
I didn't know the risk or danger.

Our ties I thought unbreakable,
what we had at first untraceable.

I see you want to say goodbye,
won't work for it, won't even try.

Seeing our love slipping away,
on my knees begging you to stay.

That look that says it's through,
now my heart is done with you.

Nice poem. Sometimes it does take time for us to realize something. Thoguht this was expressed well through that. :)

I loved this poem! I think my fav line in this is "I feel this love slipping through my fingers, hating how the silence lingers." That line is very powerful and adds a deep emotion to the poem. I liked how you described the feelings and not just said them. Makes the poem more powerful. Nice job. :)
