The days seem dim...

I stare out the window as I drive away
I never knew it would end like this
I told myself I would not cry
But your smile, I already miss

People tell me that it will get easy
But my heart just cannot let go
I want so badly to turn around
Oh how I love you so

Tonight as I lay under the sky
Even the stars will not shine
The moon is a black hole
Your face is stuck in my mind

I close my eyes so I can see you
Smiling so perfectly in front of me
I reach out my hand to touch your face
Brushing your hair back gently

Butterflies fill the evening air
Our hearts beating faster than ever
Suddenly I open my tear stained eyes
What ever did happen to forever...

    i LOVE this poem. Pure emotion runs through, you can feel the intensity of your love & how much you wish you were with her. I can relate to this-but with a guy of course lol-

    I know how this feels, everybody telling you move on you need to, but ur heart wont let you bcuz u love them so dearly.

    Awwww Matt this poem really touched me... I felt every emotion you expressed, and I must say it's a relatable poem. I loved the last stanza, it gave me chills... best line ever "Butterflies fill the evening air" beautiful words!!! Great job my friend =)
