Drinking Games.

by Poet on the Piano   Sep 8, 2011

Your face is jolly when you tell her,
it was another prolonged night
where you spoke impossibly
about words you never knew
were nonsense.
Is this what you'll be like
for the one who treasures you
as husband?
Tell me you'll quit searching-
cupboards and moonbeams,
the stash of glass
that reflects who you've
embraced, the character
that's blackened
from what I used to want
to be.
