SOMALIA From coal to Diamonds

by W0rld 0f t3ars   Sep 8, 2011

Coal decaying black dust

Piled up as strong mountains

Abandoned continent

Dry land, infertile crops, empty fountains

Skeleton molds; bones protruding out

The black coal loses coarse

Shedding, crumbling

Dead cattle, dust trails, fallen horse.

Mother's milk dried to the last drop

She hales away flies from baby's face clear

One last fly determined to cling

As it suckles from babies tears

White tongues, dry chapped lips, Khimar-

Covering her swallowed up skin

But she's still beautiful Because Coal turns into diamonds-

Poverty is her only sin

Feed these mouths with your own two hands

Either raise them high to the sky

And ask the one that never denies

Or sacrifice some of your blessings

That Allah bestowed upon you

Remember we all need someone to

Help us get through.
