Life has faded...

by Matthew Schut   Sep 10, 2011

As I look outside and see no grass
The trees are all starting to die
Where are the beautiful flowers
And the birds that fly so high...

I start to think about my own life
And the pieces that are in mine
My family is no longer around me
And I even lose track of time

My family are miles away
I sit in my house alone
The crickets aren't even chirping
And I'm holding my cold, dead phone

I have a hole in my chest
Where there once was a heart
My head that once thought about you
Now, you are no longer a part

So as I sit here tonight and think
The colors of life have faded away
Sounds of life are no longer exciting
Hoping for a brighter day...

Love that stanza, shows the emptiness you felt when you lost her.

I love this poem, you're simply brilliant when it comes to writing.:)
Everything you feel just pours through & you wanna read more and more.
