9/11

by Jad   Sep 11, 2011

Breathless, horror, fear, lost, denial

Falling down to ruins,
generations disappear into devastation
clouded with the dust of fear,
watching those so close and dear
collapse under the bloodstained sky.
Wherein will forever lie
a hated, unforgiving memory.

Trying to comfort the broken,
Whispers only a dying message
of what has been taken away
and nothing we will ever say
can bring back those buried in debris
crushed and suffering unable to be relieved.
Till darkness clouds all our eyes.

So remember those who are lost
severed from those they love.
Never to be reunited
in their loved ones arms
for all has been taken away
cast in oblivion to slowly fade.
For we had so much time
taken away in minutes
by hideous crimes
forever remembered as 9/11.

Wow, this poem is interesting... I mean it was well written and it had plenty of emotion, but the images and descriptions we so vivid that it was hard to keep from remembering where I was that day, and what was happening directly to me. I mean I love this piece, it is excellent, but it was heartrending. Anyway I guess I'll stop blabbing.

I read this before and thought I commented. Another senior moment. This is a good depiction of the scenes I remember from that morning. Your words brought back that vivid images just as if I were sitting on that loveseat watching it happen. Well done Jad (we miss you)
