Spider and the Fly

by xoxShorteexox   Sep 13, 2011

You were the spider looking to expand,
your lovely web into something so much bigger.
Something more joyous and fun for you,
spreading your thread across the window seal.

I just happened to be the dumb fly that flew,
into something so silky and secure.
With the belief that I could be something too,
filled with joyous giggling and squirming fun.

You were the spider that caught me,
in your silky web so perfectly woven.
I was the fly that started to squirm,
until your venom stuck into my veins.

I was the fly that flew into the right window seal,
for you were the right spider to end my life too.
You were the spider that was looking for expansion,
and I was the dumb fly that flew into your trap.

I love this stanza!! It really made me think about being "trapped" in a relationship and how the web looks so secure and beautiful, only to be killed slowly!!

NICE work!! I LOVE IT!!! :)

Keep up the good work, SMILE! :)
