I still love you

by The Po whet   Sep 13, 2011

Come,
free me of these memories
suspended in the depth of my mind.
memories of you,
and our lost love.

let me forget that I knew that smile,
envied by queens yet adored by their princesses.
the smile that made me believe in love,
in you.

let me not walk out at night
lest I steal a glance at the stars,
upon which I made a million wishes of love
my love to you.

let me forget the day I forsaked you
the one who was ever there for me,
in my tribulations and fears.

let me take shelter from rain
lest it falls on me reminding me of how;
we played in it like kids
rolling in the mud and lying on the grass.

let me avoid the paths we walked together;
holding hands
stopping to kiss each other
and wipping each other's tears,
lest they whisper out your name.

let me forget that I knew you,
that once we belonged.
but let me not forget
that I still love you.

    A wonderful piece here with the hurt you feel captured excellently.
    Nothing is worse than the constant reminders that seem to be everywhere you turn when love goes wrong.

    All the best,
