The city lights intoxicates me,
with uncertain qualities,
being a star was never my dream,
feeling so wanted yet so alone at the same time.
The big buildings' lights almost beating like a pulse,
singing the big shot lies into my very soul.
I've never felt so shaky,
carefulness was always to be my game,
flaunting things no one can touch,
loving their stares, but waving them off with a glare.
Whispering untamed verses into the night,
listening to the city recoil with such fright.
I never wanted to be a star,
but Hollywood called for my destruction,
so here's my encore to those lights,
you intoxicated me into ignorance.
You tainted every fiber of my beaning; my morals so torn,
Hollywood seems to have that effect on today's young people.
