Mask of a Failure

by Katie Makena   Sep 14, 2011

I’m sorry.
Failure is in my blood.
Failure is every word that I speak.
Failure is every move that I make.
Failure is consuming my every aspect of my life.
I fail at being your friend.
I fail at being your perfect daughter.
I fail at being your girlfriend.
I fail at helping you with your problems.
I fail at being myself.
I hide behind a mask.
A mask created by society.
A mask that lies to the world.
A mask that no one recognizes.
A mask that was created in eighth grade.
A mask that hides the pain.
A mask that fools everyone.

This is a really good poem kate but it's not true!! you're not a failure. You didn't fail at being MY friend. I think you're amazing and I know that you will be OKAY <3
