Deer in the Headlights

by Beautiful Chaos   Sep 15, 2011

Nowhere to go
Nothing to say
Beyond what I've told
It all falls away

Never again
Words that I spoke
Until your heart touched
What others had broke

You found me in pieces
Where I wanted to stay
Numb to the world
No longer the prey

Hunter of feelings
Stalker of lust
Seeker of anything
You don't have to trust

Sure of no remedy
Caved to my disease
Ridding life of everything
That brought me to my knees

Preparing to be frozen
Beauty etched in ice
To never touch this love again
Virtue turned to vice

Greatest day I thought I knew
Until you came to be
Now so scared of where I am
All I've let you see

    Very good poem
    my favorite stanza is
    Preparing to be frozen
    Beauty etched in ice
To never touch this love again
    Virtue turned to vice
it say a great deal about the feelings most of the poem, kinda like the deapth of the mood all wrapped into one, i guess
and the last couple of lines do a great job of turning it all around from the hardness we become back into the vulnerability we face as humans who feel! excelent job!
