Her True Self

by believeinlove87   Sep 16, 2011

Shes fooling everybody,
on the outside,
her composition is pure happiness,
when inside,
shes falling apart.

She cries all night,
punches the wall to avoid the pain,
grabs the razor to numb herself,
nobody knows this,
she won't show her true emotions,
she can't let herself be seen as weak.

Laughing at everything said,
only allowing herself to cry when she laughs
in front of her friends,
the cuts get exposed,
as she trips over the step,
pulling her shirt up,
silence crosses the room.

Questions come flying at her,
what happened,
why are you doing this,
how many do you have,
they overwhelm her,
tears racing down her face,
she screams " Stop."

No longer fooling anybody,
the cuts are exposed,
her shattered heart is out in the open,
her pure happy composition has broken,
finally,
her true self has shown.
