A Mere Distraction

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Sep 16, 2011

I woke up this morning
Maybe around eight
Putting a smile on my face takes energy
That I am not willing to take
Phone is ringing off the hook
But I can not focus at all
The only breath I can breathe
Practically makes me fall

Thirteen missed calls and unread messages
A dozen of flowers with a single red rose
Emails of famous love letters
Your way of apologizing, I suppose
A nonchalant knock on my door
Only by you can make me remember
Why I am distraught in the first place
A chill down my spine like it's December

The calling of my name by the sweetest voice
That also causes my misery
You can never take back what you have done
Almost wish I had not seen

But regrettably,

I saw the incredible lust in your eyes
A sensational force between you and her lips
Virtually smelled the aroma of sex
Right after I heard your pants being unzipped
I tasted the dryness from my mouth
Stupefied face and abrupt actions
Seeing me watching what I have already blindly known
My love for you was a mere distraction

I usually forgive and forget
But why forgive when I will soon regret ?
