Sayonara

by Meme   Sep 17, 2011

Today I'm here, I'm safe in
your arms, but tell me what
about tomorrow ? What if
you wake up and I'm gone ?
Will you forget me not ? Will
the sound of my whispers still
keeps you awake at night ?

Will you remember what you
used to call me ? Or what you
felt the first time you heard
me sing ? Or that you were
the only one who could pick
me up when I'm at my lowest ?

Remember me in your dreams,
remember me in the minutes of
your awareness, but mostly
remember that you have been
the "One" for me, the only one
who set me free.

I'm leaving a lifetime behind. I will
keep my memories, my moments,
and a part of me with you. So try
to forgive the signs that once lead
me straight to you, because it's time
for me to go now.

-My love, forget me not, forget me not.

*Sayonara: means 'Goodbye' in Japanese.*

This is a very good poem.. this poem is full of emotions and full of sorrows. it shows the reader the loss for someone special in their lives.

words belonging are so good. i like the chain of words also. i did not see the rhyming scheme in this poem because i think this is full of emotions and no need for rhyme it.. good work....
