Pretentious

by Yakari Gabriel   Sep 18, 2011

You always want to dig
deep under my skin,

you want to know,
see and hear..

all of what I feel,
as if it was your job
to investigate
what emotions
I operate..

continuously
you seek,

my heart
like a table cloth
full of ruptures
you want to sew together
again..
only to trace back
all the tiny imperfections.

constantly you want
to steal thoughts,
I never say
out loud.

lay me down
on my back
as if you were
to take x rays
of my lungs,
the only difference
Is that you are not
content to see
they are healthy..

you see,
I do not understand
why you cut open
my wounds,
when it is quite obvious
they are healing..

and you
post and tweet
and re-tweet and quote
my feelings
so cynically.

yet the fault is
all mine..

for allowing you so close.

-------

Note; we all have one friend that secretly loves to see us hurting.

^ I think this is the only lines I whcih I didnt like because it seemed to simple and werent worded in a poetic manner.

ALso, if I had to choose, I will probably change the title from 'Pretend' to Pretentious' this way, the title sounds a little intriguing.

Other than than, as usual this is another brilliant and creative piece from you. I loved how you connect each imagery and description to the other. The author's note made this piece even more fascinating.

    Keep rocking girly!
