Falling Awake

She's falling awake
Each night she closes her eyes
She's falling awake
Dreaming as she dies

Each dream is as cold as each thought
As she drifts off, heavy eyes shut
Letting go, heart stops
Staring at the sky, counting the stars
As she turns to ice
Caressed by the snow
Fingertips purple, lips turning blue
She's ready to forget
Willing to lose

She's leaving now, and I'm too late

Because I'm falling awake
Each night I close my eyes
I'm falling awake
Dreaming as I die

    One of my favorites.
    Fighting to stay awake knowing that shes slowly losing herself as she drifts into a deep sleep. You can visualize the image in your mind as her lips turn blue & fingertips turn purple
